weekend in a wrap

Ok...the much anticipated visit to Bethel sure lived up to the expectations. Only hearing stories and facts about the school from Joel and Peter, I was finally able to find out what this whole "amazing" college is all about.
Saturday afternoon Jay and I left for the Twin Cities for the weekend. We arrived Saturday evening to Jay's aunt and uncle's pad around 5:30. Aunt Michelle had homeade pizza waiting for us to eat before leaving for the T-Wolves game. The Target Center in downtown Minneapolis was only about ten minutes from their house. Student tickets were $10 a piece, $1 more than our parking ($9), and the game was worth about $10 too. The T-Wolves are struggling right now and don't look to have much hope for this year. They lost on Saturday night to the New Orleans Hornets, and may I add, the Hornets were without their best player. But it was still sweet to be at an NBA game.
The next day was the first day of our Bethel visit. It started at about 4:00 when we registered, met up with Kristin Labertew, John Peitzman, and Nick Gardiner, and had a tour of the campus. After touring the beautiful campus we ate and then went to the campus wide worship service. It was amazing and I enjoyed it greatly.
Waking up Monday was a struggle after not getting much sleep and sleeping on the floor. Nearly missing breakfast was next on our agenda before I met with my admissions counselor about transfering credits, financial aid, and housing next fall. We then all met up again and had a meeting with the football coach who wanted to make sure we were doing everything we could to make sure Joel goes to Bethel because their football team NEEDS him.
The visit ended at 1:00 when we said our good-byes and hit the road for J-Town. Nick road back with Jay and me and that was that. All in all it was a good weekend and I came back with a lot of stuff to think about.
