grandma and grandpa palmer
Though I never met my Grandpa Palmer, John S. Palmer, and have only few memories of Grandma Palmer, Sunday morning in Jackson was special for me. First Assembly in Jackson, Ohio, was started thirty years ago by my grandparents. It was the last church plant of their many years in ministry. So this past Sunday, my dad, his brother and his family, along with me, attended the the small, twenty five member church in south east Ohio. They were celebrating the thirty year anniversary and wanted us to be there. The service was neat, I had never been to a church that small. After the service, they had an all-church pot luck, which was a meal fit for a king. It was such an cool experience for all of us to witness the life of a church that was started by our grandparnets so many years ago. I wish so much that I could have met my Grandpa. From what I can tell he was one of the most amazing men of all time.

Thats cool that you got to go to that service! I agree I think grandpa was a great man, i guess we will get to know him in Heaven! i wonder if dad got some of his weird habits from grandpa palmer?
Hey speaking of grandparents, grandma clay's blog page is www.audreyfromadrian.blogspot.com
We must really have some of the greatest yet COOLEST grandparents!
I knew your grandpa. He was a spiritual giant, a man of prayer and one of the most humble men I ever met. He had a tremendous influence in Uncle Richie's life. In fact I believe Uncle Richie preached his first sermon in his church.
Your grandpa had a heart for young ministers and prayed for them daily.
I read this awhile ago, but am just now commenting on it....that's so great you were able to attend that service. I'm sure it meant so much to that congregation - you all almost doubled their weekly attendance. Nice job on Gram's blog! Hope you're having fun....I saw you called last night but we were already in bed. That's what happens when you get "old" like us.
