x-country

I can't say it has been too difficult transitioning from the west coast to the east coast. After speding five days in Southern California last week, my family and I are spending a week in the New England area. On Tuesday, we flew into Boston, and are staying in about 20 mintues south, in Brockton, MA. The trip didn't take long to begin, as we found ourselves amongst the Boston subway system downtown on our first night.

Yesterday we went down to Newport Beach in Rhode Island. It was so beautiful and not to mention a gorgeous day. I love Iowa, but the summer weather on both coasts are so much enjoyable. We took a ferry tour around the harbor and saw some seriously huge mansions. We saw the church the Kennedys got married and saw their old summer home. And amidst all the touring we did down there, I did find time to get a Carmel IC from the one and only Panera.

After the tour, we jumped in our Cadillac and drove west to Connecticut for dinner. Eating dinner at the Oyster House, overlooking the Mystic River, was breathtaking. After dinner it was just a straight shot north on 95 to the Holiday Inn in Brockton. The trip will continue today as we take a day trip up north to Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire. Stay tuned for further "Palmer Vacation" blog entries at a later time.

Must be rough, both coasts in 1 week! We've seen alot of water back here in Iowa, too. Alot of rain and small puddles-that's as good as it gets!! ha! What a nice picture. Hope you're getting lots of rest.
