Steve and Ben (friends from my floor at NCU), and I left on Friday after class to go back to Iowa for the weekend. The weekend was packed with food, football and fun.
Immediately after arriving to our house on Friday, my mom prepared her famous spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, and cool fresh salads. We stuffed ourselves with that before taking on her "oh so tasty" pumpkin bread and pretzel jello dessert.
After dinner we made a pit stop by the Liljedahl's house to say hi and pick up our care package Lori so lovingly prepared. I had already planned ahead of time we were only staying for ten minutes, otherwise we would be there all night. In the bag of goodies she had for us was: $15 Starbucks gift card, $10 for gas money, a batch of chocolate chocolate chip brownies (best things I have ever tasted in my very food filled 20 years), and fish oil pills for my cholesterol.
Johnston was playing Urbandale (cross-town rivals) for their homecoming football game that night. We stopped by, watched the first half, mingled with a few friends, and then split.
Gabrielle came with us afterwards to hang out. Us four went to B-Bops so Steve and Ben could experience the best burgers in the world. After that, Stephen Ites, Mertz, and Taylor met us over at my house for a late night of games and catching up on our lives. We called it a night around 3:30.
Saturday was the main event. The Ohio State vs. Iowa football game. We had 3rd row, 40 yard line tickets right behind the OSU bench. It was the most amazing atmosphere of any sporting event I have ever been to. 38-17...Buckeyes dominated the Hawkeyes! We had so much fun the whole weekend. I will be back most likely October 19th for fall break or Thanksgiving.

Great pic of you, steve and Ben. I saw the game on TV, the sportcasters are right -iowa has great fans (it makes up for our poor performance on the field ha) It was great seeing the three of you, Friday even if it was for only 10 minutes! Your comment about my brownies make up for the short visit-ha ha. if you continue to take the fish oil pills, next time you're in town i'll let you of the hook in 5 minutes (of course its still long enogh to nag you about your health) thanks for putting up with the liljedahls. you're a wonderful young man and so our your friends!
