son of a secretary

No my mom did not get a job. But for the first time in my life I am no longer a PK (Pastor's Kid). How weird is that? I am now an SK (Secretary's Kid). No matter how you word that it just doesn't have the same ring. Except for in this case. We are so excited for the wonderful opportunity my dad has to serve as the General Secretary of the Assemblies of God. On August 10, my dad was elected by the General Council to serve as the new General Secretary.

My family will be in transition for the next 50 days as they sell our house in Johnston, find a new house in Springfield, find a school for Bethany to start this week, and say good bye to all their friends in Des Moines. My little sister is a trooper and understands how God works. She knows no matter how hard the move may be for her as a junior in high school, God has a bigger plan she cannot see and will be faithful to her, as well as Mom and Dad.

As for Amy and Jeremy, they are now over half the distance from my parents now, which they really like. Because I am away in college, I would consider myself the "least affected." Being in Minneapolis, the only thing that changes for me is my distance from home. Fortunately, I will get to fly home when I do come home. Unfortunately, it is much harder to bring laundry home on the airplane.

Congratulations Dad! You're the man.

You will have to have Weston teach you how to DO YOUR OWN LAUNDRY!

We are happy for your family. Your dad will be great in his new ministry...and your mom will always be Debbie no matter where she is or what position her hubby holds.
