leaders are readers

My mom will tell you that I was a late bloomer when it came to reading. I used to tell her I had no reason to read. Growing up my parents did not require us to read and so I did not. Throughout elementary school and middle school, I actually despised reading. And somehow I made it through high school without reading a single book.

But luckily for me, something happened when I left for college...I began to read. Both for school and on my own. The first book I read for fun was entitled, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad." I loved it and it completely changed my outlook on life and money. Since then, I have read numerous other books. I am still a long ways to where I want to be as a reader, I have come a long ways in a couple of years.

Recently I just finished Andy Stanley's book, Seven Practices of Effective Ministry, and just started, "The Dream Giver," by Bruce Wilkinson. Although it is still not always easy for me, and I am not a very fast reader, I am learning to enjoy it much more.
